In 2017, Cairo 3A for Poultry was conceived in the form of a strategic decision with the objective of becoming one of the biggest producers within two years.
Preliminary plans included target capacities, as follows: Grandparent farms: to produce 500 thousand grandparent chicks Parent farms: to produce 70 million hatched eggs Hatcheries: to produce 56 million ODO chicks Broiler farms
Phase 1: to produce 60 thousand tons of chicken meat per year
Phase 2: to produce 120 thousand tons of chicken meat per year
Feed mill: 45 tons per house, at 14 hour shifts, over 300 working days per year for phase 1, and double capacity for phase 2 for broilers, breeders, and grandparents
Slaughter-house: 20 thousand per hour, at 10 hours per day, over 300 working days per year Using a backward integration strategy for the feed mill and sourcing raw materials toserve said integration are among the project’s major advantages.
